It’s fair to say that at times we all wish our lives had a bit more glamour, that our lives were a bit more flamboyant, a bit more . . . fabulous. Face it, you’ve got a pain and United Campus Ministries has the prescription: The Queen Challenge.

Athens’ hottest drag queens and drag kings will be taking to the Union’s stage on May 9th. The doors open at 7:30 and close, oh whenever, darling.

This years theme is DISCO: Dancing Queen. And ladies, keep in mind that they’re also looking for entries from drag kings (please oh please, will someone reading this please enter as Burt Reynolds).

So dig through your girlfriend’s make-up box, borrow a dress and heals from your dormmate down the hall, get a wig, and show the world that you’re the hottest babe around, even though you’re a dude.

And of course, all proceeds go to benefit the Athens Aids Task Force. That’s right, you’ll get to look strut your stuff and help other people at the same time. It’s like my dad used to say: sometimes being a man means dressing like a woman.

Check SpeakeasyMag.com tomorrow to learn more about it's like to be a Queen, or King, for the night.
