Presidential and vice-presidential candidates from three parties battled for positions on Ohio University’s Student Senate, but only one prevailed.

Michael Adeyanju and Sally Neidhard of the Ability And Accountability (AAA) party won the presidential and vice-presidential titles respectively with the issues of accountability, student outreach, the environment and off-campus living as their platforms. Voting took place online and at Baker University Center on Thursday, May 15.

However, because of an error that prevented residents of Bromley Hall, Voigt Hall and Scott Quadrangle from logging on to the voting site, voting was extended to Tuesday, May 20.

Members of The Birthday Party and Action through Cooperation and Teamwork for OU (ACT OU) will also be represented in the Student Senate. The three parties will work together to act on OU students’ behalf during the 2008-2009 academic year.
