Students bare (almost) all at Bare on the Bricks

Over 400 Ohio University students spent Saturday, Feb. 28, marching nearly naked through uptown Athens. These partially bare runners marched in an effort to benefit the local clothing banks and Haiti relief fund through the Bare on the Bricks event.

Giving Appalachia a voice

The Appalachian counties of Ohio are some of the poorest in the country. The two may be familiar faces or complete strangers depending upon the amount of alcohol each has consumed. While their interaction begins with flirting and light petting, this touching soon leads to intense groping.



College Dems auction dates for charity

On Feb. 11, the OU College Democrats held their 4th annual date auction. Taking place in the Baker Ballroom, the majority of the event’s proceeds went to the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life.



Guys strut for Mr. Empower Pageant

The Ohio University chapter of the Empower Campaign held the Mr. Empower Pageant Friday night, which featured 10 guys from 10 different organizations showing off their talent, beach bodies and intelligence for a chance at $100.



Play it safe on campus

OU raises hope for Haiti

Pancakes in the middle of the night, piles of donated clothes and penny wars are just a few of the numerous ways Ohio University students are raising support for Haiti after an earthquake wreaked havoc on the country on Jan. 12. OU designated Jan. 26-29 as Haiti Week and packed it with events geared toward raising funds for the people of Haiti



Chinese Gala gives OU glimpse into Chinese culture

Ohio University will give students a chance experience Chinese culture with the Chinese New Year Celebration Gala. The gala, which is sponsored by the Chinese Student and Scholar Association with assistance from the Chinese Student Language Association and the Sino Society, is a yearly traditon that keeps growing stronger with age.



OU catering to ease Valentine’s Day dinner fears

February is the season for pink and red, for chocolate and flowers and for romantic dinners, which is where Ohio University Catering will step in to help this Valentine’s Day. Anyone is welcome to join Mary Jane Jones, associate director of Baker University Center Catering, Wednesday for a lesson on creating the perfect Valentine’s Day Dinner for that special someone.



The parents come to town

It’s that time again. The second chance this year to spend some quality time with the family has arrived. If the parents couldn’t come the first time around or just had too much fun to stay away, fear not, this Parent’s Weekend is just a few days away and promises fun for the entire crew.
