After losing to the Miami RedHawks 66-58 in Oxford earlier in the season, the Ohio women’s basketball team exacted a measure of revenge in front of a home crowd at the Convo, earning an impressive 69-56 victory.
Even a sea of pink couldn’t help the Lady Bobcats. With the Ohio women’s basketball team (and crowd) wearing pink to honor breast cancer on Saturday, the ‘Cats were unable to overcome a deep Toledo Rockets team, losing 76-54.
Ball State needed a late push in games on Saturday and Sunday to beat Ohio 10-7 and 7-3. The Bobcats were plagued by defensive troubles and failed to get offensive momentum in the second game, leading to two losses against the first place Cardinals.
Emily Wethington hit two home runs to help lead the Bobcats past the rival Redhawks in a double-header Friday, 8-2 and 4-3, and the Bobcats improved their record to 11-7, only one win behind second place Miami in the MAC East.
